The overarching cultural value of Ka‘apuni o Waimea is ho‘okipa – which is hospitality from a cultural perspective, the action of treating others as we would like to be treated. It is our hope that through this experience, guests will learn about the positive impact of hoʻokipa, and will carry this attitude throughout the island.

The Waimea Valley Kipahele Tour features an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the history and wonders of this culturally significant ahupua‘a land division.

Every week, there are opportunities to volunteer: from Mālama Mala and Hanai ʻāina Days to ʻOhana Volunteer Days and Special Events.

Every Saturday, from 8 am to 12 pm in the Nursery, shop a selection of curated plants.

Celebrate the art of lei-making at Waimea Valley.

We have a special day of lei making, demonstrations, displays, live music, and more.All who wear a lei around thier neck or a lei po‘o (around head) and enter for free!

Come celebrate the culture and history of Waimea Valley throughout a month-long exhibit from May 3rd through May 31st, 2025.
