    King Kalākaua's Birthday: Sunday, November 16th

    Join us in honoring the legacy of King David Kalākaua on his birthday, November 16! Known as the “Merrie Monarch,” King Kalākaua was a passionate advocate for Hawaiian culture, music, and hula.

    Kamaʻāina can enjoy FREE admission to the valley.

    Lā Kūʻokoʻa: Friday, November 28th

    Celebrate Lā Kūʻokoʻa, Hawaiian Independence Day at Waimea Valley! Honoring the 1843 recognition of Hawaiʻi’s sovereignty, this special day celebrates Hawaiian identity, pride, and deep aloha ʻāina (love for the land).

    Join us in honoring the spirit and resilience of the Hawaiian lāhui with FREE admission for kamaʻāina!

    Every week, there are opportunities to volunteer: from Mālama Mala and Hanai ʻāina Days to ʻOhana Volunteer Days and Special Events.
