Join us for an engaging ‘Uala Workshop and discover the cultural significance, cultivation practices, and traditional uses of sweet potato in Hawaiian culture through a hands-on learning experience.

9:30 – 10:00 AM | ‘Uala Discussion

10:00 – 11:00 AM | ‘Uala Harvesting & Planting

11:00 AM | ‘Uala Tasting & Giveaway

Quick Reminders

  • Check-In: Please arrive at least 10 minutes early and check in at the Visitor Center front desk. Shuttles depart at 9:15 AM and 9:25 AM. Late arrivals will be escorted to the workshop site by staff.

  • Traffic: Road construction outside Waimea Valley may cause delays. Please allow extra travel time to ensure a safe and timely arrival.

  • What to Wear & Bring: Closed-toe shoes and a reusable water bottle are highly recommended. Gloves and tools will be provided.
