Waimea Valley, Oʻahu Celebrates 20 Years of Preservation with 12th annual Summer Concert Series
IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Haleʻiwa, Hawaiʻi, April 22, 2026)--Waimea Valley invites community and visitors to celebrate the 12th annual Summer Concert Series, a beloved North Shore tradition featuring live Hawaiian music and hula. This year’s series holds special significance, honoring two decades of stewardship and community connection.as Waimea Valley celebrates 20 years since the valley was protected and preserved.
The Summer Concert Series will take place on three Saturdays- June 27, July 25, and August 29—at 4:00 pm, bringing together some of Hawaiʻi’s most respected musicians and hālau hula for evenings of mele, hula, and aloha.
“Through mele, hula, and shared cultural celebration, we uplift the values at the core of OHA’s mission and humbly mark 20 years of protecting and preserving Waimea Valley by deepening our connection to community and place,” said Office of Hawaiian Affairs Interim Director Summer Sylva.
The final concert on August 29 will be an especially meaningful celebrtion. In honor of Waimea Valley’s 20th anniversary, the concert will move from the Main Lawn to the Upper Meadow in the heart of the Valley, creating a unique gathering space surrounded by the Valley’s natural beauty and cultural landscape. “We are incredibly grateful to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs for taking the bold step to return the Valley to Native Hawaiians in 2006 and to the community and visitors who have supported Waimea Valley over the past 20 years,” said Richard Pezzulo, Executive Director of Waimea Valley. “This concert sereis is our way of saying mahalo and celebrating together through the music and hula that are such an important of Hawaiian culture.”
Guests are invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy the summer afternoon of live entertainment in a beautiful outdoor setting. The series will once again be hosted by local favorite and legend, Kimo Kahoano.
