General Information

Moon walk admission is $10.00 per person over 4 years of age. Moon walk tickets will be available for purchase soon.

*Please note that moon walk tickets do not include daytime admission to Waimea Valley.

Moon walkers will enter the Valley in groups of 50 people, escorted by Waimea Valley staff. The first walk will start at 8 PM, admission closes at 8:30 pm. By 9:45 PM, we will be clearing the waterfall area, and we ask that all guests be out of the Valley at 10 PM.

Tickets will be available until 5 PM the day of the moonwalk, or until we reach our maximum capacity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Moonwalk is a popular event and this year we are limiting the number of guests per evening. We highly recommend you purchase tickets ahead of time. There will be only a select number of tickets available at the ticket booth starting at 8 pm.

  • No, tickets will only be available online or at the ticket booth the evening of the event.

  • No, guests must stop and hear the overview prior to the walk. Groups of moonwalkers must stay on the main pathway. All other trails and pathways are closed.

  • No, food and drinks must be left in the restaurant area. Hydroflasks and other beverage containers are not allowed past the ticket booth.

  • The walk is not guided. There will be staff present. A cultural tour is avialable at the Hawaiian living site, Kauhale throughout the evening. There will be a one botanical tour on May 7th and October 29th. The botanical tour starts at 8 pm promptly after the overview.

  • The waterfall area will close at 9:45 PM, and everyone must exit the Valley by 10 PM.

  • You are allowed to bring flashlights. We ask that you respect all guests and cultural sites and do not flash the lights in anyoneʻs face or cultural sites. Please keep all light at your feet to help you walk along the pathway.

  • No water bottles will be allowed past the ticket booth.

  • From the ticket booth to the waterfall it is about 3/4 of a mile.

  • Waimea Valley is a wahi pana (storied place) that is a sacred cultural site. The protocol and cultural overview is important for all our guests to understand the significance of Waimea, the rules and guidelines for everyone’s safety, and that we all remain respectful throughout the evening.

  • To help enhance the experience of the moonwalk entering in smaller groups is best.

  • If you did not buy a ticket ahead of time we recommend to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the ticket booth opening at 8 pm to better your chances in obtaining entry. If you bought a ticket in advance we still recommend coming 15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 8 pm. If you care to enjoy dinner before the event we recommend coming in at 6 pm.

  • Moonwalks are considered special seasonal events and are not included in the Annual Pass membership.
