Lei Day celebrations

Celebrate the art of lei-making at Waimea Valley.
We have a special day of lei making, demonstrations, displays, live music, and more. Wear a lei around your neck or a lei po‘o (around your head) and enter for free! It is also Keiki Day and kama‘āina children ages 0-12 enter for free.

JUDGE A LEI CONTEST
We invite you to participate in our staff lei contest and vote for your favorite lei in the Recyclable Lei category.
LEI MAKING
Learn how to make a lei at the 4 lei-making stations with Waimea Valley practitioners.
LEI DEMONSTRATIONS
Watch as practitioners show you different lei styles
LEI DAY GARDEN WALK
Included in your admission are lei day garden walks through the lei gardens or Hawaiian flora garden.
10 am Aunty Coco’s Lei Garden with Lisa at Hale Haku
12:30 pm Hawaiian Plant Walk with Botanical Guide at the ticket booth
2 pm Aunty Coco’s Lei Garden with Kaila at Hale Haku
LIVE MUSIC & HULA
Sit and enjoy a special performance by ukulele artisans and a hula performance on the Upper Meadow from 11 am - 12 pm.
