Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, born December 19, 1831, was a visionary leader dedicated to serving her people and preserving Hawaiian culture. As the last royal descendant of the Kamehameha line, she inherited vast lands and used her wealth to establish Kamehameha Schools, providing education and opportunities for generations of Native Hawaiian children. She is also remembered through the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, which preserves Hawaiian and Polynesian cultural and natural history.
