Kamehameha I, born in Kohala on the island of Hawaiʻi, was one of the greatest leaders in Hawaiian history. A skilled warrior and respected aliʻi, he united the Hawaiian Islands into a single kingdom by 1810, bringing an end to generations of conflict. Known for his strength, strategy, and leadership, Kamehameha I laid the foundation for a unified Hawaiʻi. His legacy lives on today that continue to shape Hawaiian culture and history.
