We are proud to announce that the Waimea Valley Guided Hike Series has expanded!

 Please give us a call at least 3 days in advance (or more) for booking and schedule information. We may not have a Guided Hike scheduled for the day you want- but, we will be happy to let you know what we have scheduled and work with you to get you the best Guided Hike experience!

     The requirements are:

  • Reservations must be booked in advance to go on a Guided Hike We do not have 'walk in' Guided Hikes.
  •  *Please call us @ (808) 638-7766. We will be happy to assist with choosing the appropriate guided hike for you based on your level of hiking experience.
  • When you call please leave a call back number with a answer machine or service. We may need to call you back for more information.
  • Closed shoes such as sneakers or hiking boots are a MUST! No open hiking sandals or rubberized shoes such as Crocs are allowed. If you do not wear the appropriate shoes - you will not be allowed to go on the Hike!
  • Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Those with pre-existing health conditions should consult with their physican before attempting hike.
  • All participants in our Guided Hike program must sign a waiver before the start of the hike.
  • The Guided Hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains.
  • Please bring plenty of water, a snack, sunscreen and mosquito repellant. Please bring your swim suit. There is a natural pool at the bottom of the waterfall. ***Swimming is assessed on a daily basis by our Lifeguard Staff for the safety of our guests. You will know if swimming is available after your hike before you go on the hike.

        Please bring your camera! There are some breath taking views! 

      Read the descriptions of the Guided Hikes and select the trail you wish to hike.

The shorter hikes are $10.00 (plus admission) and the longer hikes are $15.00 (plus admission).

* All hikes are subject to change and possible cancellation due to weather or other factors

** Admission to Waimea Valley PLUS Hike Fee pertain to all Hikes

KALAHE'E - 9:30am - 12:30pm

Climb to the top of Kalahe'e Ridge, following a switchback trail through a mixed forest of exoctic and native plants. Approximately 2+ miles, moderate to easy hike for ages 7 and above (must be accompanied by an adult). * All hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains.  Cost to participate is $10.

ALA KI - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Climb to the top of Kalahe'e Ridge.  After reaching the top of Kalahe'e Ridge and taking a short break we shall descend on a switchback trail through a mixed forest of exotic and native plants.  Approximately 2+ miles, moderately difficult hike, with a rope decent  for ages 9 and above (must be accompanied by an adult).  * All hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains. Cost to participate is $10.

SOUTH RIDGE LOOKOUT -  9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Climb to the top of the South Ridge located behind the famous Waihi (waterfall).  This short, yet moderately difficult and steep hike takes you about the waihi for some spectacular views looking down into Waimea Valley.  Approximately 3+ miles, moderately difficult hike, for ages 9 and above (must be accompanied by an adult). * All hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains. Cost to participate is $10.

NORTH VALLEY HIKE -  9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Explore Waimea's North Valley from the ridgeline to the valley floor, traversing native plant pockets and discovering the Valley's birds along the way.  Approximately 6 miles, moderately difficult to strenuous hike, for ages 10 and above (must be accompanied by an adult). * All hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains.  Cost to participate is $10.

SOUTH RIDGE LOOP TRAIL -  9:30 am - 2:30 pm

This strenuous hike connects the South Valley to the North Valley of Waimea.  Enjoy stunning views of Ka'ena Point, Kaiwiko'ele Stream and Waimea Falls.  6+ miles, this hike may involve several slippery stream crossings and steep uphill climbs, for ages 12 and up (must be accompanied by an adult). * All hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains. Cost to participate is $15.

KAMANANUI STREAM TRAIL -  9:30 am - 2:30 pm

The most challenging trail at Waimea.  Explore Kamananui Stream above Waimea's waterfall.  Numerous stream crossings; prepare to get your feet wet!  6+ miles, steep ascents, for ages 12 and up (must be accompanied by an adult). * All hikes are lead on dirt paths, loose gravel, in natural terrain and in the mountains.  Cost to participate is $15.
